We hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, Mountain Lion families! Here’s a look at what’s happening around Manzanita.
Community Building Day
We are excited to be planning our second annual Community Building Day on Wednesday, September 30! This special day will give our students opportunities to connect with one another across grade levels, build relationships, and take pride in our Manzanita community. Students will participate in buddy activities, campus beautification projects, and a collaborative community art project that will eventually be displayed in our MPR. We’ll also welcome parent volunteers to help make the day a true school-wide community effort. More details about volunteer opportunities and projects will be shared as plans are finalized!
Mountain Lion of the Month
We are excited to launch our Mountain Lion of the Month celebrations! Each month, we will recognize students who demonstrate our schoolwide expectations and model what it means to be a Mountain Lion. Our first focus is Safety, and we’ll be celebrating students who consistently demonstrate safe choices at school. Our first MLOTM assembly will be Monday, October 5th!
Data & Student Support
Our teachers are continuing to look closely at beginning-of-year reading data so we can make thoughtful decisions about how to best support each student. Teams are using this information to plan instructional groups and identify opportunities for additional support, intervention, or extension. This work helps us ensure that our instruction is responsive to the individual needs of our Mountain Lion learners.
Thank you for being such an important part of our Manzanita community! We are grateful for the partnership of our families as we continue to help our Mountain Lion learners excel academically, belong in our community, and care for one another.
